Pakistan Karot Hydropower Station is a project invested and constructed by CTG under the framework of national strategy "the Belt and Road Initiative", and a priority project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework. The Hydropower Station is located at the junction of Punjab Province and Kashmir region in Pakistan, about 55 km from Islamabad in the west, and it is the fourth cascade of the five cascade hydropower plants planned for the Jhelum River. The Hydropower Station is a hydropower project only focusing on power generation, with the installed capacity of 720 MW (4×180 MW), the guaranteed output of 116.1 MW, the average annual power generation of 3.206 TWh and the annual utilization hours of 4,452 hrs.
In order to respond to the CTG's requirements for going overseas, give full play to the talent advantages of CYPC and output the standards for operation and maintenance of large-scale hydropower stations, CYPC has dispatched personnel to participate in the construction of the project since April 2019, provided all-round consulting services to the Hydropower Station from design, manufacturing, transport, installation, commissioning to grid connection, and effectively guaranteed the construction quality.
In June 2022, the Karot Hydropower Station?was put into commercial operation. CYPC participates in the operation and management of the station to ensure its safe production.
